On Wednesday, March 26th,
2025, the Faculty of Nursing at Zarqa University organized an awareness-raising
activity on the human papillomavirus (HPV) and unhealthy eating habits during
the holy month of Ramadan. This activity is part of the Community Health course
in the Department of Community and Mental Health Nursing, headed by Dr. Islam
Al-Awidat and supervised by Dr. Asmaa Mahfouz, Dr. Mohammed Al-Hasban, Dr.
Suhair Abdel Aziz, Dr. Radwa Amara, and Ms. Gharam Al-Ajaleen.
The activity aims to provide
important information about the human papillomavirus (HPV), methods of
prevention, and the importance of regular screening and vaccination to reduce
the risk of cervical cancer. It also aims to raise awareness of the importance
of following a balanced and healthy diet during Ramadan to avoid health
problems associated with obesity and gastrointestinal diseases.
Dr. Ahmed Rayyan, the Dean of the Faculty
of Nursing, emphasized the importance of participating in such valuable
initiatives, given their significant role in promoting community health and
disease prevention.
He pointed out that spreading health
awareness among community members contributes to improving quality of life,
praising the efforts of students and faculty members in organizing this
awareness activity.
