Colleges of Computing and
Information Society (CCIS), which emanates from the Association of Arab
Universities (AArU) and which is based in Zarqa University, organized its
annual scientific conference in its twenty-third session (ACIT'2022), which was
hosted by Al Ain University in the United Arab Emirates and sponsored its
activities by His Excellency Omar bin Sultan Al Olama, Minister of State for
Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy and Remote Work Applications.
The activities of the conference
were attended by His Excellency the Secretary General of the Association of
Arab Universities, Prof. Amr Ezzat Salameh, His Excellency the President of
Zarqa University, Prof. Nidhal Al Ramahi, and the Secretary-General of Colleges
of Computing and Information Society (CCIS) and the Dean of the Faculty of
Information Technology at Zarqa University, Prof. Muhammad Hassan, Dr.
Noureddine Atatreh, member of the Board of Trustees of Al Ain University, Prof.
Ghaleb Al-Refai, President of Al Ain University and honorary president of the
conference, and researchers from different countries of the world.
The Secretary-General of Colleges
of Computing and Information Society (CCIS) and the Dean of the Faculty of
Information Technology at Zarqa University, Prof. Muhammad Hassan, indicated
that more than 150 researchers and academics participated in the conference
activities and discussed more than 120 research papers through a series of
workshops and various lectures presented by a group of invited speakers,
researchers and participants from 20 Arab and foreign countries attended the
conference, where the conference included a discussion of several topics, most
notably: artificial intelligence and expert systems, data science and the
Internet of things, data and information security, machine learning and
decision support systems, digital communications, vital information, e-commerce
and e-marketing, information technology and digital media, information
technology in law and criminal analysis, information technology in education
and e-learning, and others.
He pointed out that the
conference included the organization of an information technology exhibition,
during which a group of companies presented the latest technological devices
and developments in the field of artificial intelligence and electronics,
holding meetings of the general and executive assembly of Colleges of Computing
and Information Society (CCIS), and a meeting of the organizing committee of
the Arab International Conference on Information Technology (ACIT).
Hassan thanked the administration
of Zarqa University, represented by the Chairman of the Board of Directors, His
Excellency Dr. Mahmoud Abu Shaira, for the continuous support that the
association has enjoyed since its establishment in 2000, such as providing
permanent headquarters to host the Colleges of Computing and Information
Society (CCIS), The International Arab Journal of Information Technology
(IAJIT), and the International Arab Conference on Information Technology.
