A
number of students from the Faculty of Journalism and Mass Communication
at Zarqa University participated in the activities of "The Media and Theater Team for Community Peace", which is implemented by the Community Peace Center at the Public Security Directorate, in cooperation with the
Australian Federal Police.

male and female students from different universities participated in the
project, divided into four teams: Amman, Salt, Irbid and Zarqa.
The
project aims to employ the media and theater in confronting extremism,
terrorism and all negative phenomena that affect the community peace system, so
that the project outputs keeping pace with technical and media development in a
new way, through the delivery and translation of ideas and adapting the
knowledge content provided by the specialized trainers in the Community Peace
Center into content Media in an unconventional way, whether through theatrical
performances, content and film production, or graphic design.
The
Dean of the Faculty of Journalism and Mass Communication at the university,
Dr. Amjad Safouri, said that the students' participation in the project stems
from the responsibility of the university and the Faculty towards society,
protecting it from extremist ideas, and focusing on spreading values and
rejecting intolerance.
He
pointed out that the Faculty seeks to cooperate with all the institutions of
the country, and to be an effective partner in the production of targeted media
materials.
The
Community Peace Center is the security unit concerned and specialized in confronting
extremism and terrorism through education and training, through several main
axes, the most important of which are the preventive axis, the training axis,
and the media axis, with the aim of building a healthy, united society free of
extremism, violence and all negative phenomena that affect society.
