The Faculty of Information Technology at Zarqa University won third place in the 12th National Technology Festival, held on Thursday, July 10th, 2025, at the Al Hussein Technical University campus, under the theme "Youth in Leading Technological Transformation and Innovation".
The faculty won third place in the festival for the participation of the Agricultural Technology (AgriTech) team in the field of smart agriculture, and the Entertainment Games (Game Tech) team in the field of entertainment games.
The faculty also participated in other fields. The Cyber Security team presented a distinguished performance with a project that simulated real-life threats and proposed smart response mechanisms. The FinTech team also presented an innovative solution to simplify monthly expense tracking using artificial intelligence to create a plan that helps organize expenses and investments.
The Health Tech team also participated with an AI-based application to identify drug interactions and organize medication intake on time.
This year's festival saw record participation, with more than (406) projects submitted by Jordanian university students, (107) of which qualified for the final stage. These projects were divided into ten specialized technology themes, including smart agriculture, cybersecurity, financial technology, health technology, entertainment games, and more.
Prof. Dr. Mohammad Hassan, the Dean of the Faculty of Information Technology, commended the efforts of the students and supervisors, emphasizing that this achievement "is only the first step toward greater accomplishments". He called on all students to continue innovating and actively participate in national and international forums.
He praised the university's ongoing support for research and development, spearheaded by Dr. Mahmoud Abu Shaira, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Zarqa Educational and Investment Company, by providing everything necessary to transform entrepreneurial ideas into products and services that serve society and the national economy.
