Zarqa University won first place and
the gold medal in the fourth edition of the 2025 Women's Race, organized by the
Jordanian Marathon Association.
Hanwiya Adam Hasaballah, a student
at the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, won first place in the
women's 5.2 km race.
A thousand female competitors
participated in the race, which began on Friday, May 30th, 2025, at
Al Hussein Gardens in Amman, under the slogan "Run for You." The race
aims to support and empower women in Jordanian society, promote women's
physical and mental health, and highlight their role and achievements in Jordanian
society.
Prof. Dr. Nidal Al-Ramahi, University
President, expressed his great happiness with this great victory, emphasizing
that this achievement is the result of the great efforts and continuous
training of the Sports Activities Division team affiliated with the Deanship of
Students’ Affairs, who worked diligently and diligently to achieve this victory
and success. "This victory supports the university's efforts and
philosophy aimed at promoting a culture of sports among female students and
women in Jordanian society. The university continues its consistent approach of
supporting female players on all its teams to achieve further gains in sporting
events held at the national and regional levels. I appreciate the continued
support of His Excellency Dr. Mahmoud Abu Shaira, Chairman of the Board of
Directors of Zarqa Educational and Investment Company, in achieving these
accomplishments", he added.
Dr. Mukhled Al-Zoubi, Dean of
Students’ Affairs, said that this achievement is the culmination of the tireless
work and tireless efforts of those in charge of sports activities at the
university. He emphasized that the Deanship of Students’ Affairs will spare no
effort in supporting talented students and providing the appropriate
environment to hone their skills and develop their capabilities in various
fields, especially sports, which is an important pillar in building a
well-rounded student personality.
He pointed out that this victory
reflects the level of seriousness and discipline demonstrated by the students
participating in the sports teams, as well as the high spirits they possess, in
addition to the competence of the coaching staff, who spared no time or effort
in preparing and qualifying them in line with the university's aspirations for
excellence at all levels.
