On Thursday, April 24th,
2025, the Faculty of Science at Zarqa University organized a scientific day on
the occasion of World Quantum Day. This event is part of its efforts to build a
stimulating scientific environment that keeps pace with global scientific
developments.
The event was attended by Dr. Alia
Burgan, the Dean of the Faculty of Science, Dr. Ibrahim Ghobar, Dean of the Faculty
of Graduate Studies, and a number of faculty members and students.
Dr. Riyad Al-Masharfa, the Head of
the Physics Department, stated that World Quantum Day is an international
initiative aimed at raising public awareness about quantum science and
technologies, which are among the most prominent areas of research and
development in the modern era.
This day aims to spread knowledge
about quantum concepts, such as quantum computing, quantum communications, and
quantum sensing, given their potential significant impact on the future of
fields such as cybersecurity, medicine, energy, and artificial intelligence.
In this context, Dr. Burgan
emphasized that the celebration of World Quantum Day falls within the framework
of the faculty's commitment to keeping pace with rapid scientific developments
in the field of quantum sciences and enhancing student awareness of their
importance and future applications.
"Through this event, we seek to
simplify the concepts of quantum mechanics and highlight its pivotal role in
developing future technologies, contributing to the preparation of a generation
of students capable of engaging in advanced scientific research and
innovation", She added.
