On Sunday, December 29, 2024, the
Faculty of Arts at Zarqa University organized a seminar titled "Challenges
of Development and the Environment in Jordan: Water and Energy."
The seminar, attended by Dr. Anas
Al-Amoush, Head of the University Requirements Coordination Unit, faculty
members, and a large number of students, aimed to clarify the interrelationship
between water and energy, raise awareness about the importance of conserving
water, and discuss proposed solutions to address Jordan's water challenges in
line with the national strategy.
The event featured distinguished
academics, including Dr. Hossam Damen Al-Humaida from the Faculty of
Technological Engineering, Dr. Yacoub Siyam, and Dr. Adnan Al-Saraira.
The discussions covered the water
situation in Jordan and the concept of the water footprint, which reflects the
amount of water used to produce various goods by individuals and institutions.
Prof Alaa Eddin Sadeq, Vice President for Academic Affairs
and Dean of the Faculty of Arts, highlighted the importance of organizing such
seminars that shed light on vital issues and contribute to finding innovative
solutions. He noted their positive impact on student awareness and their
ability to address challenges effectively.
Prof. Sadeq also commended the
efforts of faculty members in organizing academic events and constructive
dialogues, which enhance students' abilities and prepare them to be
distinguished representatives of their university in various fields.
