Zarqa University achieved a distinguished athletic achievement in the Jordanian Universities Association Athletics Championship held at the University of Jordan stadiums, where the university teams were crowned with a total of (6) medals.

The University managed to win three gold medals, in addition to a silver medal and two bronze medals, reflecting the excellence of its students in various competitions.

Student Hanwiya Hamed from the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences excelled with an exceptional achievement by winning two gold medals in the 3000-meter and 1500-meter races. She thus leads the female students’ category in these competitions, and clearly emerged as one of the best runners in the championship.

Student Aisha Issa also managed made a remarkable achievements; she won the gold medal in the high jump, reflecting her skill and high competitiveness.

The same student also won the silver medal in the 200-meter race, making her one of the most prominent names in the championship.

In a related context, student Mohammed Mahmoud Al-Baqaei from the Faculty of Sciences achieved two bronze medals in the 5000-meter and 1500-meter races, which also reflects the level of physical achievement enjoyed by the university teams, as it shows the dedication and commitment of the students in achieving the best results.

Prof. Dr. Nidal Al-Ramahi, the President of the University, expressed his pride in these honorable results, stressing that these achievements would not have been achieved without the great support provided by the university administration, headed by His Excellency Dr. Mahmoud Abu Shaira, for sports activities.

Al-Ramahi stressed the importance of the annual plans adopted by the university to develop the skills of its students in various fields, including sports.

In turn, Dr. Majid Musaada, the Dean of Students’ Affairs, said that this success was not only a sporting achievement, but also an affirmation of commitment and investment in sports as a way of life, which motivates students to continue developing their skills and capabilities in various fields. With this achievement, Zarqa University continues to shine and confirm its position as a distinguished academic and sports edifice in Jordan.

It is noteworthy that the tournament started its activities on Sunday and ended on Monday evening, and witnessed effective participation from various Jordanian universities, which created an atmosphere of competition and challenge between the participating teams. This sporting excellence reflects the great efforts made by Zarqa University and its students in preparing for this tournament.
