His Royal Highness Prince Faisal bin Al Hussein, Founder and
Chairman of Generations for Peace, honored 5 students from the Faculty of Media
at Zarqa University for their participation in the production of the film Olive
Branch.
The film is the result of the “Filmy” training program launched by
Generations for Peace in partnership with the Irish Ministry of Foreign Affairs
and the Embassy of Ireland to Jordan in 2023, which provided comprehensive
training in filmmaking for 20 young men and women from Jordan, Iraq, Palestine,
Syria, and Sudan, who concluded it by producing their independent film.
The film, which was shown at the beginning of this September,
featured: Raghad Jihad, Mohammed Al-Samadi, Lujain Samhan, Rand Saria, and
Sultan Zuhair.
The film tells the story of the resilience of a family forced to
flee their homeland and decide to leave the camp in search of a better life, as
the events of the film take place in the suburbs of the capital, Amman.
In a related context, student Raghad Jihad participated in
presenting the premiere of the film and her experience in participating in it
in front of His Highness Prince Faisal bin Al Hussein and the Irish Ambassador
to Jordan.
Dr. Amjad Safouri, Dean of the Faculty of Media, said that
students' participation in training courses plays an important role in refining
students' skills and providing them with the knowledge and practical experience
necessary to succeed in this field.
"In addition to the theoretical knowledge that students
receive in the faculty, training courses enable them to apply this knowledge on
the ground and gain practical skills that cannot be obtained through
theoretical study alone", He added.
He explained that the courses are organized by the faculty in
cooperation with press and media institutions and community institutions are
fully consistent with the university's vision of developing students' skills
and qualifying them for the labor market.
