Zarqa
University won first place and the gold medal in the running competition
organized by the Jordanian International Cultural Players Association on the
occasion of the Kingdom’s Independence Day, the silver jubilee of His Majesty
King Abdul II’s accession to the throne, and the birthday of Her Highness
Princess Haya bint Al Hussein, President of the Association.
The student,
Hanwiya Adam, from the Faculty of Economics, succeeded in winning the race that
was organized Saturday and started from the Turki in Naour area and ended in
Al-Rabita Park and extended for a distance of 5 km.

Al-Ramahi, The University’s president, said that the university is keen to
participate in sports tournaments held at the national and Arab levels, and to
develop the sports spirit among students.
Al-Ramahi
added, "We are very proud of winning this competition, which was achieved
as a result of combined efforts to achieve success and promote sports at the
university, and the continuous support for the university teams and their
activities by the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Zarqa Education and
Investment Company, Dr. Mahmoud Abu Shaira."
Prof. Dr. Majid
Masaada, Dean of Students’ Affairs, said that the university’s sports teams
undergo intensive training under the supervision of the training staff of the
Deanship of Students’ Affairs, which culminated in winning this championship,
adding to the record of championships won by the university in various
tournaments.
