In the presence
of Prof. Dr. Nidal Al Ramahi, the President of Zarqa University, the first
master’s thesis in the field of “Laboratory Medical Sciences” was examined at
Zarqa University in the Faculty of Allied Medical Sciences, in cooperation with
Griffith University, by the student Bayan Al-Maaytah, entitled “Synergistic Hepatoprotective
Effects of Secoisolariciresinol Diglucoside against Lead Acetate induced Oxidative
"Stress-Mediated Liver Damage".
The examining committee
was composed of Dr. Tariq Al-Ramadhna as supervisor and president, Dr. Kawthar
Al-Amawi, the Dean of the Faculty of Allied Medical Sciences, as an internal examiner,
and Dr. Talal Al-Qaisi, the Dean of the Faculty of Allied Medical Sciences at
Al-Ahliyya Amman University, as an external examiner.
Dr. Kawthar
Al-Amawi, Dean of the Faculty of Allied Medical Sciences, said that today we
are reaping the effort of developing a program that provides educational,
qualification, and scientific research opportunities for students by providing
a research environment that enhances cooperation and creative thinking and
working to disseminate research results and applied laboratory science.
It is
noteworthy that, as part of Zarqa University’s tireless efforts to expand the
offering of distinguished programs, a master’s program was recently created in
the field of medical laboratory sciences, which is a qualitative specialty that
meets the needs of the labor market.
