The Head of the Radio and TV Department at the Faculty of Media,
Dr. Abdullah Al-Jalabneh, participated in a dialogue entitled "Media
Education and Media Psychology" organized by the Directorate of Culture in
Zarqa Governorate.
The dialogue discussed topics related to media education,
for which the government has allocated training courses with the aim of
providing school and university students with digital media skills so that they
can use the various media outlets implemented by the Jordan Media Institute.
Dr. Al-Jalabneh said, "The media education course,
which is taught at the Faculty of Media at Zarqa University, aims to train
students on how to access the media and produce media content that can be
published through the media, in addition to training them on how to verify
false and misleading news that is published through the media, especially
social networking sites."
Al-Jallabneh referred to the rumors and false news that
spread through social media in light of the Corona pandemic and negatively
affected the psyche of society members, calling for obtaining information that
is published through the media from correct and reliable sources to avoid
misleading public opinion.
Al-Jalabneh indicated that this participation comes within
the framework of Zarqa University's endeavor to serve the local community in
various fields, indicating that the university provides various services to
enable members of the local community in the city of Zarqa to increase their
capabilities to find solutions to the challenges facing them to achieve
development in various sectors in Zarqa.
At the end of the dialogue, an extensive discussion took
place between Dr. Al-Jallabneh and the audience, during which Al-Jallabneh
answered the inquiries and questions of the participants in the dialogue.
