In the presence of the Chairman of the Board of Directors
of the Zarqa Educational and Investment Company, His Excellency Dr. Mahmoud Abu
Shaira, Zarqa University organized, on Tuesday 3/21/2023, a number of events on
the occasion of the anniversary Karameh,
in the presence of the University President, Prof. Nidal Al-Ramahi, the deans
of the faculties and members of the teaching and administrative staff and a
large group of students.
The events included a blood donation campaign, a
documentary exhibition, and the conclusion of the five-a-side football
tournament at the university level.
Dr. Nidal Al-Ramahi, University President, explained that
the purpose of holding events to commemorate Jordanian national events lies
within the university's lofty goal of perpetuating national victories and
achievements, in honor of those who sacrificed their lives for the sake of the
nation, so that everyone can make sacrifices to preserve the sanctity of the
nation and its dignity.
Al-Ramahi added, "We remember today the sacrifices
of our valiant armed forces, and their unique representation of the meanings of
dignity, loyalty to the homeland, loyalty to the land and the Hashemite leadership."
Al-Ramahi on behalf of the Chairman of the Board of Directors presented to His
Majesty King Abdullah II Bin Al-Hussein, may God protect him and his faithful
Crown Prince, the congratulations and loyalty on this occasion.
For his part, Prof. Dr. Majed Al-Masadha, the Dean of
Student Affairs praised the role of youth in making every effort to advance the
country and its institutions, and to provide university students with science,
knowledge and the requirements of the times, and to make belonging to Jordan an
actual priority that we practice and live in our private and public lives.
The Dean of the Faculty of Nursing, Dr. Ahmed Rayan,
indicated that the participation of nursing students in the blood donation
campaign comes within the framework of the faculty's activities aimed at
developing their awareness and deepening their sense of national and societal
responsibility.
The blood donation campaign, which is jointly organized
by the Deanship of Student Affairs, the Faculty of Nursing, the Department of
Medical Services and Health Insurance and the Central Blood Bank at the
Ministry of Health, aims to introduce the health benefits of donation and its
contribution to saving people's lives, and to encourage university employees
and urge them to be part of humanitarian initiatives.
The event included pictures that narrate the heroism of
the Jordanian Arab Army in the Battle of Karama, and pictures of their heroism
during the immortal battle.
Within the university’s celebrations of the anniversary
of the Battle of Al-Karamah, the final match of the five-a-side football
championship of Zarqa University was held, which ended with the victory of the
Faculty of Arts team with a score (5-2) over the team of the Faculty of
Economics and Administrative Sciences, where the President of Zarqa University
handed over the gold and silver medals and the victory cup.
