Zarqa University won the athletics clubs championship for men and women, organized by the Jordanian Athletics Federation, which was held in Al-Hussein Youth City in Amman during the period 17-18/3/2023.

Student, Hanwiya Adam Hasaballah, from the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, won the first place and the gold medal in the women’s 5000m race, and the first place and the gold medal in the women’s 1500m race.

Student, Aisha Issa Jameh, from the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, won the first place and the gold medal in the high jump championship.

Student Habib Bakr Shami from the Faculty of Information Technology won the first place and the gold medal in the kickboxing championship, which was held in Amman yesterday, Friday, for the under-60 kg weight, on the occasion of the Kingdom’s celebrations of the birthday of His Majesty King Abdullah II, which came with the participation of 150 players from the game’s champions in Jordan.

Student, Abeer Zakaria Ishaq, from the Faculty of Information Technology, won the first place and the gold medal in the preparatory race that took place yesterday, Friday, in Amman near Al-Hussein Gardens, for a distance of 10 km.

The President of the University, Prof. Nidal Al-Ramahi, attributed the reasons for these achievements to the generous support provided by the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Zarqa Educational and Investment Company, His Excellency Dr. Mahmoud Abu Shaira.

Al-Ramahi said that the university is always keen to provide all that is needed for students to develop their scientific and academic skills and in their extracurricular activities that can develop their competencies and capabilities until the university reaches outputs that are able to obtain a job opportunity in the local, regional and even global market with the utmost ease and ease.

In turn, the Dean of Student Affairs, Prof. Majed Masadeh, extended his thanks and appreciation to the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Zarqa Educational and Investment Company, His Excellency Dr. Mahmoud Abu Shaira, for his unlimited support for the work of the Deanship of Student Affairs to implement its annual plans to develop students' skills in various technological, literary, media, sports and other fields.

He said that the Deanship of Student Affairs absolutely believes in supervising all activities in which the university participates in competitions and activities organized at the local and regional levels.

For their part, the winning students appreciated the efforts made by the university administration to develop their skills and capabilities to reach these achievements, which we dedicate to the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Zarqa Educational and Investment Company, His Excellency Dr. Mahmoud Abu Shaira, and to the university administration and students.
