His Excellency Engineer Samir
Habashneh, the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Zarqa University, conducted
an academic visit to the Syrian capital, Damascus, during which he met with a
number of government officials and academics.
The visit aimed to enhance
cooperation in the fields of scientific research and exchange of expertise, in
line with the vision of His Majesty King Abdullah II Ibn Al Hussein to
strengthen bilateral relations between the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and the
sisterly Syrian Arab Republic in various fields.
During the visit, Habashneh met with
the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Marwan Al-Halabi,
and they discussed ways to enhance cooperation between Zarqa University and
Syrian universities.
Habashneh emphasized Zarqa
University's keenness to open up to Syrian universities and deepen academic
cooperation with them, which would contribute to the development of the
educational process and the service of students in both countries.
At the invitation of Damascus
University, Habashneh met with Dr. Mustafa Saem Al-Dahr, the President of the
University, and they discussed prospects for developing relations between Zarqa
University and Damascus University.
Al-Habashneh and Sa'im Al-Dahr
agreed to sign a memorandum of understanding between Zarqa University and
Damascus University to enhance academic and research partnerships and exchange
expertise, contributing to raising the academic standards of students and
faculty alike.
In a related context, Al-Habashneh
visited Qasioun Private University, where he met with Dr. Wael Al-Halqi, the
Chairman of the Board of Trustees; Dr. Akram Abdul Latif, the Chairman of the
Board of Directors of the owning company; and Prof. Dr. Muhammad Ayman Al-Saadi,
the President of the University.
The meeting emphasized the
importance of strengthening cooperation between the two universities and the
subsequent signing of a memorandum of understanding.
