"Now I Hear You" Event Concludes

The Department of Applied Speech Pathology and Audiology at the Faculty of Allied Medical Sciences at Zarqa University concluded the "Now I Hear You" event on Monday, April 21st, 2025, which was organized in cooperation with the American organization HTC.

The events lasted for two weeks, including scientific and community activities inside and outside the university, with the aim of supporting people with hearing disabilities and raising awareness of hearing health.

HTC experts gave scientific lectures and practical training on fitting and calibrating hearing aids. Students from the department actively participated in preparing the lists of beneficiaries, which contributed to doubling the number to more than 100 people.

The event also witnessed a visit from Dr. King from Boston University, who praised the department's academic plan and offered valuable development advice.

The event began on April 6th with initial screenings for candidates at the university's clinics. This was followed by specialized training lectures on April 13th, field activities from April 14th to 16th at the Zadkom Association, and concluded with lectures on hearing technology on April 20th and 21st.

During the event, more than (150) hearing aids were installed and over (100) hearing tests were conducted. HTC also donated (150) hearing aids to low-income individuals.

Dr. Kawthar Amawi, Dean of the Faculty of Allied Medical Sciences, emphasized that the event represents a unique model for linking education and field work and reflects the faculty's commitment to community service.

She added that the students demonstrated high proficiency, and that the faculty is proud of its partnership with HTC and looks forward to expanding it in the future. She also commended the great efforts made by the Department of Applied Speech Pathology and Audiology in planning and supervising this distinguished event.
