As part of the Faculty of Nursing's
commitment to enhancing students' role in community service and spreading
health awareness, students in the "Clinical Community Health" course
implemented a series of field awareness activities in several health centers
and educational and community institutions.
These initiatives, supervised by a
select group of faculty members, included a series of educational workshops and
events. These included a workshop titled "Maternal Awareness: Fetal Safety",
which aimed to raise awareness of the risks of preeclampsia and ways to prevent
it. An activity titled "For Your Child... Vaccinate Them", which
focused on the importance of vaccinations for children and their role in
preventing infectious diseases, was also held.
An event titled "I Can",
which aimed to enhance self-confidence among people with special needs, was
also held. An awareness activity titled "Your Smile Starts with Clean
Teeth", highlighted the importance of oral and dental hygiene and
maintaining overall oral health.
The activities concluded with the
"A Drop of Milk... Life" event, which addressed the importance of
breastfeeding and its health benefits for mothers and children, including
immunity, growth, and proper nutrition.
Dr. Ahmed Rayyan, the Dean of the Faculty
of Nursing, emphasized that health awareness and community education are among
the most prominent roles that nursing students must play. These activities not
only contribute to community service, but also enhance students' practical
skills and their ability to apply theoretical knowledge in real-life
situations.
He pointed out that the Faculty of
Nursing at Zarqa University believes in its humanitarian and educational
mission and works to prepare a conscientious nursing cadre capable of making a
positive impact in their environment.
These activities are part of the
university's vision to link academics with practical realities, promote the
values of active citizenship among students, and build a healthy and
conscious society.
