Zarqa University won the first and third place cups in the Jordanian Universities Union Championship (Loyalty and Belonging Championship), held in the city of Aqaba during the period from February 9^th to 14^th, 2025, with the participation of 21 Jordanian universities.

The championship, whose opening ceremony was sponsored by Dr. Nazir Obeidat, the President of the Jordanian Universities Sports Federation and President of the University of Jordan, witnessed fierce competition between the participating university teams.

In the cross-country race (female students), student Hanwiya Adam Hasaballah from Zarqa University was able to snatch the first place cup and the gold medal, amidst fierce and intense competition from the participating university teams.

In the same championship, Zarqa University's five-a-side football team was able to snatch the third place cup and the bronze medals, as the Zarqa University team topped its group and took first place in the overall ranking, thus qualifying for the second round and winning the third place cup in the championship.

Prof. Dr. Nidal Al-Ramahi, the President of the University, expressed his pride in this distinguished sport achievement made by our students.

"This victory is not just a sporting victory, but rather an embodiment of the university's values ​​of excellence, diligence and high sportsmanship", said Al-Ramahi stressing that this achievement will be added to the record of our university's achievements, and will motivate us to exert more effort to support our students in all fields.

Prof. Dr. Majed Masa'adah, the Dean of Students’ Affairs, stressed the importance of sports activities in building the integrated personality of the student, and enhancing belonging and loyalty to the homeland and the university.

"We appreciate the efforts of all the students participating in the championship, and we thank the administrative and technical staff of the Deanship of Students’ Affairs, who provided the necessary support to achieve this victory", said Prof. Masa'adah.

He pointed out that this success is the result of diligent work, continuous effort, and continuous support from Dr. Mahmoud Abu Shaira, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Zarqa Educational and Investment Company, looking forward to more achievements in the future.
