The world nowadays lives within one space (the Internet) in facilitating its social, economic, and the various areas of life. Hence, it was necessary to develop academic programs that qualify students to keep pace with the current developments in dealing with cyberspace through the development of secure applications for the Internet with high efficiency and effectiveness.

Accordingly, the university decided to establish the Internet Technology Department in the academic year 2010/2011, and as the world entered the second decade of the twenty-first century, it brought with it the development of new programs that meet the requirements of the labor market. The transition process was brought about by the Faculty of Information Technology through the Internet Technology program that aims to provide students with the necessary knowledge and practical skills required in the field of cyber-security and the development of Internet and smartphone applications. The program also seeks to address the lack of necessary practical skills required by labor markets in the fields of cyber-security, information technology, and the internet by providing students with the capabilities that qualify them for this purpose.
