Deans speech
Since its establishment in 2009, the Faculty of Engineering Technology (FET) has pledged to achieve number of strategic goals. The most prominent was to achieve excellence in engineering education and scientific research by accomplishing its vision and fulfilling its mission of serving and developing society. In order to achieve this goal, FET has ensured that the engineering curriculums and programs are in compliance with the highest international standards and in line with quality standards. It has consistently worked in developing such plans in accordance with the technological development and the changing needs of the society. FET has always believed in the importance of integration between the practical and theoretical aspects in engineering disciplines, therefore it has strived to facilitate the laboratories with the latest equipment and up-to-date technologies to develop student's practical skills.
Accordingly, we believe that enabling universities' success in fulfilling their missions in building a generation of graduates capable of carrying responsibility and advancing society guarantees the universities' success in scientific and society roles. Therefore, FET has worked hard to attract locally and internationally distinguished faculty members in order to prepare a generation of graduates equipped with knowledge and engineering sciences as well as creative skills, to enable them to enter in the market.
In order to motivate the academic staff, FET encouraged scientific research by facilitating the process of publishing by providing financial support to the publication fees as well as by proving publishing awards, in addition to the subscription in international databases.
To enhance the technical aspects, and to empower our students with engineering best practices, FET through its distinguished relations with industry, has maintained integrated partnerships with various industrial facilities. Such partnerships enable the students to learn how to deal with industrial problems, how to solve them, and to practically train them in a way that paves the way for a better engineering future.
