The department of journalism and digital media is the newly developed department. It was originally named the journalism department which started to welcome students back in 2010.  The department is equipped with modern computer labs as well as the latest data shows projection technologies.  The department teaches wide theoretical and practical subjects in the field of journalism and mass communication. The department focuses on teaching practical and technological skills in order to keep pace with the rapid developments in the field. The department teaches more than 170 students, and the Arabic language is the main language of instruction used in the department. 

 

In 2022, the department started a master's program in digital media which is the first and most specialised digital media program of its kind in the country.
