The Faculty of Law at Zarqa Court of First Instance
The Faculty of Law at Zarqa University organized a field visit to the Zarqa Court of First Instance (Justice Palace of Zarqa) to see all sections of the Palace of Justice, and the degrees of litigation right, beginning and appeals, and the work, tasks and competences of the notary.
The students attended a number of judicial hearings in the Magistrates and Court of First Instance, the Appeal Court, both the penal and legal, and the Criminal Court, to learn about the stages of the judicial process and the foundations of litigation and pleading.
The court judges and department heads expressed admiration for the high academic level of the Faculty of Law students as they reflect the quality of education outputs at Zarqa University..
This visit was supervised by Dr. Abdullah Dhunaibat as part of the course of judicial applications taught by the college dean, Dr. Omar Makhzoumi.
Dr. Abdullah Dhunaibat conveyed greetings and gratitude of the University Acting President and the dean of the Faculty of Law, Dr. Omar Makhzoumi to the court officials for their cooperation with the university..
At the end of the visit, the students expressed their admiration for the high level enjoyed by the Jordanian courts, and the regularity of the progress of trial procedures of various degrees, and all litigation procedures which reflect justice, fairness and transparency of Jordan's legal system.
Zarqa University Holds the Finals of the 1st Environmental Justice Debates for Jordanian Universities
Under the patronage of His Excellency the Prime Minister's representative and Minister of Environment, Dr. Saleh Al-Kharabsheh, Zarqa University has held the final ceremony for the first environmental justice debates for Jordanian universities. The debates have been organized by the National Center for Environmental Justice in cooperation with the Ministry of Environment, the German Agency (GIZ) and the Faculty of Law at Zarqa University
Law students from six Jordanian universities, namely, Zarqa University, Hussein Bin Talal University, Middle East University, Petra University, Yarmouk University and Al Al-Bayt University have participated in the debates which were also attended by the President of the University Professor Dr. Jihad Hamdan, Vice President for Administrative Affairs Professor Dr. Nader Ahmed Abu Sheikha, the deans and a large number of guests and students.
His Excellency Dr. Al-Kharabsheh said that the next stage will witness a focus on building partnerships with various segments of society, so that the focus will be on environmental awareness , education and developing awareness plans to reduce the negative impact.The university president, Prof. Dr. Jihad Hamdan, explained that Zarqa University is one of the environment-friendly universities and works to achieve the goals of sustainable development by carrying out several projects of renewable energy, electric power, wind energy ,and Earth temperature energy. Zarqa university looks forward to work out more plans in the field of energy such as environment-friendly green buildings, he added.
He pointed out that these debates aim to acquaint students with environmental and sustainable development issues, and that the projects receive the attention and care of the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Zarqa Education and Investment Company, His Excellency Dr. Mahmoud Abu Shaira, so as to support the entrepreneurial and environmentally friendly projects that will be reflected in all the university campus..
Dean of the Faculty of Law, Dr. Omar Makhzoumi confirmed that the activity comes in line with the growing national interest in developing the legislative system of environmental protection in Jordan and introducing students to environmental legislation and how to deal with issues related to environmental protection
Head of the National Center for Environmental Justice, Dr. Mohamed Ayadat said that the center has implemented the project of through legal empowerment "towards sustainable environmental justice" which is supported by the German Agency for International Cooperation, and in coordination with the Ministry of Environment, which promotes the concept of environmental rights and supports the bases of environmental justice, as it has targeted groups of practical impact on the ground.
The teams of Zarqa University and Al Al-Bayt University competed in the last debate which ended with the winning of the Al-Bayt University. His Excellency Dr. Al-Kharabsheh and Professor Dr. Hamdan handed certificates and the tournament shield to the winning team. Honorary shields were exchanged between the representative of the Prime Minister and President of Zarqa University.
The Deans of Faculties of Law at Zarqa University Meet Freshmen Students
The Dean of the Faculty of Law, Dr. Omar Al-Makhzoumi, met with the freshmen students who joined the faculty in the first semester of 2020/2021.
The deans congratulated the students on joining the university and choosing to study law and media majors and urged them to organize their lectures and benefit from the experiences of faculty members in the two faculties, to maintain the university's distinguished position among other universities.
Dr. Omar Makhzoumi, in his meeting held on Thursday 11/26/2020, using visual communication technology through the Microsoft Teams platform, in the presence of a number of faculty members, reviewed the advisory plan for students and the mechanisms for registering study materials, in addition to the laws and instructions related to e-learning (Distance).
A Workshop for the Faculty of Law, Zarqa University, on the Electronic Services of the Ministry of Jordan
The Faculty of Law at Zarqa University organized a workshop, using visual communication technology, entitled "Electronic developments taking place in the Ministry of Justice," in which Yusef Abu Sa`ilik, the head of the electronic transformation department in the ministry, made a presentation.
The workshop, which was attended by the Dean of the faculty, Dr. Omar Makhzoumi, a group of postgraduate students in the master's program in law, Dr. Shukran Al-Daghmi and Dr. Ahmed Al-Benyan, included an explanation of the most prominent electronic services provided by the Ministry of Justice, and the developments witnessed by the Ministry towards the transformation of electronic services in order to facilitate services for people.
During the past years, the Ministry of Justice launched several electronic services, the most prominent of which are the transfer of the amounts of executive cases to bank accounts directly, the electronic auction service, the service of paying violations, and inquiring about reports, and other services.
The Faculty of Law Academic Day
The President of Zarqa University, Professor Jihad Hamdan, inaugurated the activities of the Academic Day of the University's College of Law entitled "Legislative Amendments - Real Estate Property Law of 2019 and the Labor Law". Present at the event were a number of guests, Vice President of the University for Administrative Affairs Professor Nader Ahmed Abu Sheikha, the deans of Faculties and a large number of Law students.
Professor Hamdan said that the royal papers had presented many concepts, vocabulary, values and political and social contents. His Majesty discussed in the sixth discussion paper the issue of the rule of law as a basis for the civil state. The most important pillar in the work of every official and every institution is to protect and promote the supremacy of its approach.
He pointed out that the Zarqa University administration aims to empower its students in general and law school students in particular by informing them of developments in the practical reality and identifying the legislative development in the Kingdom so that the student is ready to engage in the field work. He expressed pride that many of the Faculty graduates work in the field of justice, Lawyers or legal formal bodies, and they excelled in bar exams and obtained first positions in recent years.
Professor Hamdan thanked the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Zarqa Company for Education and Investment, His Excellency Dr. Mahmoud Abu Shaera', and the President of the University Board of Trustees, His Excellency Engineer Samir Al Habashneh, for their continuous support for scientific research and for the various activities in the interest of the university and students, and thanked all participants and guests on the practical day.
The dean of the Faculty of Law, Dr. Omar Makhzoumi, explained that knowledge of the law is assumed in the sense that one does not excuse his ignorance of the law, hence the idea of this day came and the title of this day was chosen (with legislative amendments: the real estate property law of 2019, and the labor law) These two laws are of great importance in our daily life, by shedding light on the most important amendments that have occurred in these laws with the help of an elite of specialists.
The President of the University, Professor Jihad Hamdan, presented honorary shields to the guests who gave lectures on the main topics of the Day.
The Faculty of Law at Zarqa University Won the Second Place / the Silver Medal in the First Environmental Justice Debate
The team of the Faculty of Law at Zarqa University won the second place / the silver medal in the first environmental justice debate championship for Jordanian universities, which was organized by the National Center for Environmental Justice in cooperation with the Ministry of Environment and the German Agency (GIZ).

The championship witnessed a strong competition between universities. The Faculty of Law team at Zarqa University won the first place in the semi-finals. They presented an impressive level that caught the attention of the attendees This comes as a result of the efforts of the student supervisor and the college's deanship and the continuous support from the university's administration, led by the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Zarqa Company for Education and Investment His Excellency Dr. Mahmoud Abu Shaera', the university president Professor Jihad Hamdan, the Deanship of the Faculty of Law and all the participants.
The Faculty of Law at Zarqa University Participates in a Training Workshop on the Role of the Constitutional Judiciary
A group of faculty members and students at the Faculty of Law at Zarqa University participated in an awareness-raising training session entitled "The Role of the Constitutional Judiciary in Strengthening the Rule of Law and Protection of Democratic Freedoms", as part of the activities of the Project of the Role of the Constitutional Judiciary in Strengthening the Rule of Law and Protection of Democratic Freedoms implemented by Lawyers without Borders in partnership with the German Friedrich Ebert Foundation.
The session was opened by Dr. Ali Al-Hammoury on behalf of the Dean of the Faculty of Law, where he stressed the importance of partnership with civil society institutions and the need to sustain these relations and partnerships.
Mr. Youssef Ibrahim, Director of Programs and Projects at the Friedrich Ebert Foundation, spoke about the importance of partnership with civil society and academic institutions and their effective role in serving democratic freedoms, stressing the need for civil society institutions to play their real roles to promote the best practices of national institutions, especially the Constitutional Court.
Mr. Sami Ganeh Jak, Director of the Constitutional Judiciary Project at Lawyers without Borders, explained the objectives of the project and the importance and role of civil society institutions in contributing to building national institutions.
Zarqa University, through the Faculty of Law, is keen to involve its students in various activities with the aim of enriching the students' experiences at various levels, informing them of developments in practice and getting acquainted with the legislative development in the Kingdom.
