In view of the importance of mathematics in human life, the Department of Mathematics was established in 1994. Since mathematics is considered one of the basic sciences on which most other sciences depend, directly or indirectly, the faculty has formulated a comprehensive approach to achieve the mission that calls for preparing highly qualified scientific graduates in mathematics and training them to be able to serve and develop society. In addition, the department is keen to update and review study plans and courses regularly to keep pace with the continuous development of science in all its fields. It also seeks to provide all the necessary requirements of advanced references and highly qualified teaching staff in all branches of basic mathematics.
