A Word from the Head of the Department of Arabic Language and Literature
Praise be to Allah, Lord of the Worlds, and blessings and peace be upon the Master of the Prophets and Messengers, and upon his family and companions as a whole.
I welcome you to the Department of Arabic Language and Literature at the Faculty of Arts at Zarqa University, as we are happy with our students, this department accompanied the inception of our university since its foundation, the department is one of the scientific edifices and knowledge streams that seek to serve students and researchers according to the development programs approved by the Higher Education Accreditation Commission, this specialization provided the country with batches of competent graduates in its long and generous career, which participated in the nation’s generous arms in its journey of distinction and its rise under the leadership of the prosperous Hashemite Kingdom .
And the ideal goal of the Department of Arabic Language and Literature is to teach the great language of the Qur’an and the flowering manners of the ancestors by the best available means, because it is a language that deserves much, it is the national identity and it is our history and our heritage, and it is the language of the great Islamic religion, and above all, it is a universal language that is the oldest language in circulation until today, and it is the longest in life, the widest in the field, the richest in material and the farthest range in eloquence, touched the sky of miracles in its statement, and Allah chose it as a language for the last of the prophets, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, and the language for his Noble Book. The department contains a group of professors and academics who seek to build the students' personality intellectually and culturally, by building their research personality from a pure scientific perspective, and instilling a love for the Arabic language in their conscience. The department includes a bachelor's program that is concerned with linguistically educating students and providing them with various knowledge of language, literature, rhetoric and criticism, based on the heritage of the glorious past and the variables of the new present, in an authentic merging of tradition and contemporary to refine souls and minds and advance them scientifically, cognitively and ethically.
In conclusion, we ask Allah Almighty to make our work beneficial to everyone in serving the language of the Noble Qur’an and the flourishing literature of the Arabs.
