About the Program
The Arabic language major was opened by one student who joined the department on the first semester of the academic year 1994/1995, The year in which Zarqa University started its work, then the number of students in this specialization developed, which necessitated the establishment of the Department of Arabic Language and Literature officially in the academic year 1995/1996, at that time, there were only two faculty members, one of whom held the position of the Dean of the College of Arts, and the second was in charge of managing Arabic language courses for non-native speakers, and then establishing a center for teaching Arabic to non-native speakers. And then the number of faculty members in the department increased, to meet the needs of the university, the department and the center, in light of the increasing number of students, who want to study and learn Arabic, especially in the center, which necessitated the separation of the center with an administration independent of the department.
