President of Zarqa University, Professor Jihad Hamdan, met the freshmen
students. The meeting was attended by Vice-Presidents,
deans of colleges, and directors of departments and centers at the university.
Hamdan explained during his speech the university vision, goals, and
achievements during years of excellence
and creativity so as to keep pace with various international developments. He
also described the university's qualified and trained academic staff of various
specialties, in addition to its activities, training courses and workshops
He pointed out the importance of students' involvement
in the university's extracurricular activities and the utilization of its facilities,
which may provide them with the
necessary skills compatible with the requirements of the labor market,
reviewing the growing number of students during recent years, and opening a
number of new majors in the undergraduate and master's levels.
Hamdan expressed his pride in the university graduate generations since its
establishment and held high positions in the country.
He stressed that university regulations and
instructions are found in a manner commensurate with the interests of students,
stressing the importance of adhering to them, and to enhance the spirit of
dialogue, exchange of opinions..
The university President also expressed his appreciation
to the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Zarqa Company for Education
and Investment His Excellency Dr. Mahmoud Abu Shaera', and to the President of
the University Board of Trustees His Excellency Engineer Samir Al Habashneh,
for their continuous efforts to increase the university's competitiveness and
improve the educational process.
The Dean of Student Affairs, Dr. Majed Al-Massadah,
explained that this meeting comes within the framework of communicating with
students and listening to their observations. He referred to the importance of
teamwork and following up all matters to facilitate work and cooperation in the
interests of students and the university as well.
He called for joining the student community and
strengthening relationships with their fellow students of various nationalities
to cultivate their personalities, participating in university activities of the
many student clubs under the supervision of the Deanship of Student Affairs.
