Three students from the Faculty of
Journalism and Mass Communication at Zarqa University won the Hussein Cancer
Foundation Awards for media professionals aiming to raise awareness of early
detection of breast cancer and smoking
Those students are:, Iman Safi who won the
award for the best Facebook post in the category of the human story and Anas
Abu Sneineh and Aya Al-Jaafari who
shared the award for the best photo report published on Instagram in the
field of social communication for university students .
The Dean of the Faculty of Journalism and Mass
Communication, Dr. Amjad Saffouri said that this achievement comes within the
framework of the college’s strategy to provide its students with the necessary
professional, and technical skills that
are in line with the requirements of the labor market in the media and press
institutions at the local and regional levels.
He added that this achievement would not
have been achieved without the continuous support of the Chairman of the Board
of Directors of the Zarqa Company for Education and Investment, His Excellency
Dr. Mahmoud Abu Shaera, and the presidency of the university. The support of faculty
members who have scientific and professional skills that positively affected the college's outputs and providing a stimulating educational
environment targeting increasing students' ability to achieve media and
journalistic accomplishments may have contributed to the student's achievement..
The winners expressed their gratitude and
appreciation for the efforts made by the college and university which harness all the scientific and technical
capabilities of its students to participate in all media and press activities ,
both inside and outside Jordan. Such steps enhanced their competitiveness in
face of their counterparts in the media colleges of Jordanian universities.
