The Faculty of
Journalism and Mass Communication at Zarqa University participated in the
activities of the Fifth Creative Narration Festival for Short Films, at the
invitation of the Mohammed Bin Rashid School of Information at the American
University in Dubai, in partnership with the MBC Group, and the global creative
forum «Creative Commons Corporation.
The university was
represented by the dean of the college, Dr. Amjad Saffouri, and the students,
Rakan Al Shajrawi, Lin Abu Agha, Rawda Rafeh, and Yasmin Ibrahim.
Al-Safouri said that
participating in this event is an important step for students to meet with
filmmakers in the Arab world, and to attend special events for film production
and short films, in addition to meeting international personalities specialized
in television work.
students expressed their appreciation to the University for allowing them to
participate in this festival.
The festival aimed to
celebrate young Arab talent in the film industry.
In addition to
discussion sessions for a number of prominent figures in the film and
television industry from Hollywood and the Arab world, among them the American
writer and producer Chris Brancato - one of the makers of the famous drama
series "Narcos", the American TV producer and writer Chris Kaiser,
and the American writer David Isaacs - who holds "Emmy Prime Time"
award, American writer and producer Dara Resnick, American writer and film
producer John Alchler, producer Jason Newman and Peter Smith - CEO of MBC
Studio under the umbrella of MBC Group, among others.
At the end of the
festival, Al-Safouri handed the University of Zarqa shield to the Chairman of
the Festival Committee, Soufi Boutros.
